UNION LEARNING IS CLOSING - EFFECTIVE SEPTEMBER 1, 2019
The letter to ULC families from Pastor Lisa Stenner & Clerk of Session Paul Seidman:
Dear ULC Families,
It is with heavy hearts that we inform you Union Learning Center will close on September 1st. The Session of Union Presbyterian Church made this difficult decision at a called meeting on Sunday, July 28th. The Session is the decision-making board of the church, and ULC is a ministry of the church. Over the past several years, ULC has struggled financially due to decreasing enrollment and difficulty in hiring enough talented staff people to provide the level of care our children need and deserve. The Session recognized that ULC is simply not financially sustainable and made the decision to close. After 37 years of faithful service to the children and families of our community, we are heartbroken and simply have no other choice.
We encourage you to take advantage of the helpful information and resources provided by the Kentucky Cabinet for Health and Family Services. The website for the Division of Regulated Child Care is chfs.ky.gov/agencies/os/oig/drcc. This website contains helpful information as well as a search tool for child care providers throughout the state.
ULC policy requires two weeks written notice for a child to withdraw from ULC. However, we are waiving that requirement for accounts that are current. All fees and tuition for care must be paid by Friday, August 30th. All other policies and guidelines remain in place as explained in ULC Parent Handbook. If you have any questions about your account, please contact ULC Director Lisa Haynes
We can never thank you enough for the holy privilege of sharing the journey of life and learning with your family! We pray God’s continued guidance and blessings for all of our families and staff.
